Answering Misquoted Ahadith By Non Ahmadi Muslims

Misquotes & misinterpretations of hadith

Before I refute all the Ahadith which have been used to prove Isa(as) as one who is alive, I would like to state that no authentic hadith does this and that secondly as Ahmadis we believe in the sahih ahadith which talk about the descent of a latter day messiah who is also given the title of Isa Ibn Maryam and the Mahdi. These ahadith do not prove Isa(as) to be alive in any way and most are da’if as I will prove.

Tawaffa Argument Thrashed?

This is another famous allegation of the non Ahmadi Muslims which is not just a lie upon Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) rather a lie upon Allah and the Qur’an as well.

Both Messiahs To Resemble Urwa Bin Masud

The allegation of the non Ahmadi Muslims is that in Sahih Muslim the Holy Prophetsaw has been recorded to have said that Isaas who was sent to Bani Israel resembled Urwa bin Masud, while in Sahih Muslim again in regards to the latter day messiah, hesaw has also said the same. First of all when we look at the most authentic book after the Qur’an, Bukhari, we are told that the messiahs would not resemble each other and be two different people.

Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه‎ stated Raise then Die? Taqdir and Takhim?

Meaning Isa(as) will be exalted in the Presence of Allah and will be given spiritual raise and nearness to Allah (same type of Raf’a Allah rewards the believers with)

Qabla Mauthi Refers To Isa عليه السلام ?

It is narrated from Sa’id bin Jubair from Ibn Abbas [about]; “No one will remain from among the People of the Book but will certainly believe in him before he dies.” He said; “Before the death of Eisa ibn Maryam.”

Do the Hadith mention descending from Heavens?

Firstly let us make it clear that even if the ahadith did mention heavens, which they do not, it would still not prove Isa(as) is alive as we will show from the Quran what it means when something descends from heaven. The Qur’an states:

Face Switch of Isa عليه السلام ?

Now I find it astonishing that the non Ahmadi Muslims have not at all posted the entire saying attributed to the great companion. This gives me the feeling that even they know such a saying as no basis from the Qur’an rather contradicts not just the book of Allah but also his attributes.

Hazrat Isa عليه السلام Buried with Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa ﷺ?

Firstly, it is clear that Isaas has died according to the Qur’an and the Ahadith. Secondly a lot of non Ahmadi Muslims have quoted a hadith which states that the latter day masih would be buried with Muhammadsaw, and quote it to be in Tirmidhi.

Why The Name Isa Ibn Maryam?

The main question which arises when it is said that the latter day messiah would be in the likeness of the Messiah Isa Ibn Maryam, is that why was he called Isa Ibn Maryam, if it would be a metaphorical coming? They try saying why is “like not mentioned” I would firstly answer this in the words of the Promised Messiah(as) himself. Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) states:

Why Is Nazul Used For The Latter Day Messiah?

Now it is always asked that if Isa(as) is indeed dead than did the Prophet Muhammad(saw) give us statements which prove this messiah would be different? Indeed he has. First proof for this is that the hadith quoted above itself used the word nazul.

Proof That The Messiah Would Be From Among Us

Now the next part states “imamukum Minkum”. This is yet another proof in the same exact hadith that shows he would be an imam from amongst ourselves rather than from somewhere else.

The Heavenly Sign

“When will be the day of Resurrection? When the eye is dazzled, And the moon is eclipsed, And the sun and the moon are brought together, On that day man will say, whither to escape?”  (Chapter 75 Verses 7-11)

If Jesus عليه السلام Died, Why Can’t He Come Back?

Allah can do anything He wants but never would He go against His words of the Qur’an in which He clearly has stated that once a person dies never do they return.

Dajjal And Gog And Magog

Two of the greatest signs in regards to the end times which were prophesied by the Holy Prophet Muhammadsaw, were Dajjal and Gog and Magog. Firstly, we find the mention of the word Dajjal in many ahadith but not in the Qur’an.

A Just Arbitrator

This entire hadith about the latter day Messiah was fulfilled in Ahmadas. Each sign will be discussed one by one. The first sign mentioned is that The Messiah would be a Just ruler. The Holy Prophet Muhammadsaw has simply told us tht he would be a judge between the Muslims and also the non Muslims.

Breaking Of The Cross

Narrated Abu Huraira:Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “The Hour will not be established until the son of Mary descends amongst you as a just ruler, he will break the cross, kill the pigs, and abolish the Jizya tax. Money will be in abundance so that nobody will accept it (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 3, Book 43, Hadith #656)

Killing of The Swine

The next sign of the Messiah of the Latter days which will be discussed is the killing of the swine. This is another metaphorical sign of the Messiah, and does not literally mean that the messiah would come to kill pigs.

Abolition of Jizya

The next sign which will be discussed is the abolition of Jizya. Firstly, jizya is a ta which non Muslims are forced to pay durings the wars for protection. Whenever there was an Islamic state, and a military threat came into existence, which would interfere with the peace of the state, this tax was a must for the non Muslims.

Distribution of Wealth

The next sign of this hadith which will be discussed is the abundance of wealth that nobody would accept it. Now this is another sign in the same prophecy of the Holy Prophetsaw. It would not make sense for one to take the whole hadith as metaphorical, and only take one sign literally.

Gate of Ludd

The sign which will now be discssed, is the killing of the Dajjal at the Gate of Ludd. Dajjal and Gog and Magog would have its own section, and the purpose of this explanaton will primarily be in regards to the Gate of Ludd.

Interpretation of Mount Tur For The Messiah

The context of this hadith is that during the advent of the Messiah there would be great powers on earth and he would think of fighting them for the sake of Islam but Allah would reveal to him that We have Created two big powers on earth and it is not for any man to fight them so do not fight them materially.

White Minaret

“Allah would send Christ, son of Mary, and he will descend at the white minaret in the Eastern side of Damascus” (Sahih Muslim 2937 a)

Mahdi Lineage of the Prophet ﷺ

One of the primary objection the non Ahmadi Muslims have against Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas of Qadian is that he was not from the family of the Holy Prophet Muhammadsaw.

Two Yellow Sheets?

The Holy Prophet Muhammadsaw stated in regards to a vision which foretold the coming of the messiah that he would descend with two angels and would be wearing yellow garments. This is another vision of the Prophet Muhammadsaw and therefore is interpreted and not to be taken literally.

Breath of The Messiah Will Kill The Disbelievers?

It’s quite sad that some Muslims take this prophecy of Muhammad(Saw) to be literal. Firstly, they need to understand that a lot of the prophecies in regards to the Messiah(as) are full of metaphorical language.

False Narration Attributed to Hasan Basri

This saying attributed to Hazrat Basrirh does not have a complete chain and cannot be trusted as it contradicts the Qur’an and Ahadith which are much more authentic.

Da’if Hadith of Ibn Maja

Another hadith many quote is from ibn maja which attributes Isa(as) to have said he would descend (during the miraj ) and kill dajjal. There is really no point of discussing this as one of the biggest scholar of the non ahmadis has graded it daif which should be a suffice answer.

How Did Ali Ibn Abi Talha Narrate from Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه‎ ?

This allegation will only be raised by the ones who do not have any knowledge on Ahadith. The non Ahmadis state that Imam Bukharira has not given the sanad of the statement of Ibn Abbasra which states:

False tafsir Tanwir Al Miqbas

This is a totally daif tafseer and here and many references from non Ahmadi scholars themselves.

Ijtihad Of Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه‎

The interpretation which is attributed to Abu Hurairara is not a hadith rather a supposed interpretation of his own, which contradicts the Qur’an and other Ahadith narrated by him.

Fasal Khitab Translations?

Allegation that in Fasal al Khitab the First Khalifa translated “all messengers as some” and qabla mauthihi was attributed to Isa:

Peace and Justice

Many non Ahmadi Muslims quote the hadith which states that the Messiah and Mahdi would bring peace to the world. We need to understand that this hadith should not be interpreted in a way where the interpretations contradicts what Allah has Stated in the Qur’an.

Messiah and Mahdi are One

Another primary difference between the Ahmadi and non Ahmadi Muslims is in regards to the Messiah and Mahdi being one person with both of these titles. This is misunderstood by many, but if one pays attention to the ahadith this issue becomes extremely clear.

The View of Hazrat Safiyya (ra)

A false narration attributed to the wife of the Prophet Muhammad (sa), Hazrat Safiyyah (ra)

I Will Come Down from the Heavens to Earth?

A false narration attributed to Ibn Abbas (ra)

Jesus (as) Ate Grain Till He Was Raised?

Ate grain till he was raised?

Isa (as) Body Switched and Another Crucified?

Body Switch and another crucified?
