Reality of prophethood from Qur’an

Evidence from the Qur’an

This section will prove from the Qur’an that Indeed the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the last law bearing prophet, however a prophet had to come from this ummah as well as he himself has also prophesied. This proof however should not be something shocking to a sincere non Ahmadi Muslim as they themselves await a prophet.(Note:Ahmadi Muslims count Bismillah as a verse, so for example Chapter 4 Verse 70 would be Chapter 4 verse 69)

Need of Prophethood

According to the Qur’an and the Ahadith it is clear that prophethood is open and a prophet can be raised from the Muslim ummah, and one in specific, the latter day messiah would definitely be raised in the end times.

(4:70) Spiritual Rewards for The Muslims

“And whoso obeys Allah and this Messenger of His shall be among those on whom Allah has bestowed His blessings, namely, the Prophets, the Truthful, the Martyrs, and the Righteous. And excellent companions are these.” (Chapter 4 Verse 70)

(22:76) The Sunnah Of Allah

“Allah chooses His Messengers from among angels, and from among men. Surely, Allah is All- Hearing, All-Seeing.” (Chapter 22 Verse 76)

Denying Prophethood

In the Qur’an, Allah has Clearly denied those who try to claim that no prophet shall ever come

(57:17-18) The Revival of the Earth After its Death

Allah Has made it clear that after a long duration of time since the arrival of a prophet, the people become hard hearted and many become wicked

(7:36) Prophets Within The Ummah

“O children of Adam! if Messengers come to you from among yourselves, rehearsing My Signs unto you, then whoso shall fear God and do good deeds, on them shall come no fear nor shall they grieve.” (Chapter 7 Verse 36)

(3:82) Covenant of The Prophets

“And remember the time when Allah took a covenant from the people through the Prophets, saying: ‘Whatever I give you of the Book and Wisdom and then there comes to you a Messenger, fulfilling that which is with you, you shall believe in him and help him.’ And He said: ‘Do you agree, and do you accept the responsibility which I lay upon you in this matter?’  They said, ‘We agree;’ He said, ‘Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses.”(Chapter 3 Verse 82)

Chapter 11 Verse 18 : A Witness
(62:4-5) The One To Revive Islam

“He it is Who has raised among the Unlettered people a Messenger from among themselves who recites unto them His signs, and purifies them, and teaches them the Book and wisdom, although they had been, before, in manifest misguidance. And among others from among them who have not yet joined them. He is the Mighty, the Wise. That is Allah’s grace; He bestows it on whom He pleases; and Allah is the Master of immense grace.” (Chapter 62 Verses 4-5)

(75:7-11) The Heavenly Sign

Allah States in the Qur’an in regards to a heavenly sign for the latter day Messiah and Mahdi

(1:1-7) A Blessing of Allah

There is a beautiful prayer which Muslims are taught from the beginning of the Qur’an and told to recite daily in every single rak’at when they pray. The beautiful prayer is Surah Fatiha. Allah States:

(17:59) A Prophet Before Punishment

“There is not a township but We shall destroy it before the Day of Resurrection, or punish it with a severe punishment. That is written down in the Book.” (Chapter 17 Verse 59)

(25:31) Qur’an Treated as a Discarded Thing

And the Messenger will say, ‘O my Lord, my people indeed treated this Qur’an as a discarded thing.’ (Chapter 25 Verse 31)

(3:180) A Reward for The Believers

“Allah would not leave the believers as you are, until He separated the wicked from the good. Nor would Allah reveal to you the unseen. But Allah chooses of His Messengers whom He pleases. Believe, therefore, in Allah and His Messengers. If you believe and be righteous, you shall have a great reward.” (Chapter 3 Verse 180)

(2:125) A Promise to Abraham عليه السلام

And remember when his Lord tried Abraham with certain commands which he fulfilled. He said, ‘I will make thee a Leader of men.’ Abraham asked, ‘And from among my offspring?’ He said, ‘My covenant does not embrace the transgressors.’ (Chapter 2 Verse 125)

(84:2-4) The Promised Day

“By the heaven having mansions of stars, And by the Promised Day,  And by the Witness and that about whom witness has been borne” (Chapter 84 Verses 2-4)

Difference In Nabi and Rasul?

Some non Ahmadis say prophets do not bring shariahs or laws, while messengers do. This ideology is totally baseless

Pure Character

Allah States a beautiful sign of a trutful Prophet in the Qur’an in regards to his purity. This is a beautiful sign of a prophet which makes it easier to identify the truthfulness of a true prophet

False Claimants Are Destroyed

Allah has Cleary Stated in the Qur’an, that a false claim would not prosper

Proof That The Messiah Would Be From Among Us

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said “How will you be when the son of Mary descends amongst you and is your imam among you.” (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 55, Hadith #658)
