Many non Ahmadi Muslims quote the hadith which states that the Messiah and Mahdi would bring peace to the world. We need to understand that this hadith should not be itnerpreted in a way where the interpretations contradicts what Allah has Stated in the Qur’an. Allah has Clearly Stated that the Christians and Jews will remain in hatred and will continue to fight each other until the Day of Judgment. Allah States:
وَمِنَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّا نَصَارَىٰ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَهُمْ فَنَسُوا حَظًّا مِمَّا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ فَأَغْرَيْنَا بَيْنَهُمُ الْعَدَاوَةَ وَالْبَغْضَاءَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ۚ وَسَوْفَ يُنَبِّئُهُمُ اللَّهُ بِمَا كَانُوا يَصْنَعُونَ {15}
And from those also who say, ‘We are Christians,’ We took a covenant, but they too have forgotten a good part of that with which they were exhorted. So We have caused enmity and hatred among them till the Day of Resurrection. And Allah will soon let them know what they have been doing.(Chapter 5 verse 15)
This ayah has clearly stated that Allah has taken a covenant from the Christians and has caused enmity and hatred among them till the day of resurrection. Now for them to have enmity and hatred they have to exist. Allah further states similar in regards to the Jews:
وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ يَدُ اللَّهِ مَغْلُولَةٌ ۚ غُلَّتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَلُعِنُوا بِمَا قَالُوا ۘ بَلْ يَدَاهُ مَبْسُوطَتَانِ يُنْفِقُ كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ ۚ وَلَيَزِيدَنَّ كَثِيرًا مِنْهُمْ مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ طُغْيَانًا وَكُفْرًا ۚ وَأَلْقَيْنَا بَيْنَهُمُ الْعَدَاوَةَ وَالْبَغْضَاءَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ۚ كُلَّمَا أَوْقَدُوا نَارًا لِلْحَرْبِ أَطْفَأَهَا اللَّهُ ۚ وَيَسْعَوْنَ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَسَادًا ۚ وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُفْسِدِينَ{65}
And the Jews say, ‘The hand of Allah is tied up.’ Their own hands shall be tied up and they shall be cursed for what they say. Nay, both His hands are wide open; He spends how He pleases. And what has been sent down to thee from thy Lord will most surely increase many of them in rebellion and disbelief. And We have cast among them enmity and hatred till the Day of Resurrection. Whenever they kindle a fire for war, Allah extinguishes it. And they strive to create disorder in the earth, and Allah loves not those who create disorder. (Chapter 5 verse 65)
This ayah is also really clear and states that the Allah Has Caused enmity and hatred till the day of resurrection in regards to the Jews.
Allah has Shown us that there will not be entire peace within the Jews and Christians because of their disbelief. There are two different approaches to answer this question and understand this prophecy. The first approach is that when a prophecy is made, and the time duration is not specified, the people become hastry and want the prophecy to be fulfilled in their lifetime, despite the prophecy being for much later. When we look at the prophecies of the Qur’an in regards to the Holy Porphetsaw, Allah States:
هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ شَهِيدًا{29}
He it is Who has sent His Messenger, with guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may make it prevail over all other religions. And sufficient is Allah as a Witness. (Chapter 48 Verse 29)
This prophecy took place 1400 years ago, and in every 100 years two or three generations passed away. Over 40 generations have passed away yet this prophecy is not completely fulfilled. The number of Muslims in comparison to the non Muslims is still a minority. We are a minority against Christians till today and also against atheists. Over 1400 years have passed since this prophecy. Now if a non Muslim asked this question, what would be the answer? The truth is that an unlimated phase has been described here and no time limit is specified. The same is in regards to the prophecy of the Messiah bringing peace. Peace will ultimately be established in many places around the world. The Holy Prophetsaw stated that when the Messiah would come, there would be two great nations that would be so powerful, that no one would be able to fight them. Allah would reveal to the Messiah to pray to Allah to destroy them. The same people, Gog and Magog, are descirbed in the Holy Qur’an as the ones who will fight each other and be destroyed. Unless these two nations fight against each other, this peace cannot be esablished. The words of the Holy Prophetsaw should be interpreted in the light of his own words rather than others. Before the coming of the peace the two nations had to fight each other and be exhausted.
If a good is promised to a people,, that promise is always conditional towards the reply and attitude of the people.
Allah states:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ ۖ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَحُولُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهِ وَأَنَّهُ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ {25}
O ye who believe! respond to Allah, and the Messenger when he calls you that he may give you life, and know that Allah comes in between a man and his heart, and that He it is unto Whom you shall be gathered(Chapter 8 Verse 25)
The Qur’an has clearly stated that the Holy Prophetsaw has come to give us a new life. How many are there that achieved this new life? Hesaw was sent for the entire world, but only a minority achieved this. Peace was established by Ahmadas and the ones who have accepted him have this peace. Ahmadis are living a life which seems like paradise and the non Ahmadis are going through a lot of troubles and problems. This peace is confined to the true followers of Islam. In the same way the benefits of Muhammadsaw flowed to the direction of those who accepted him. If the peace is denied by man, while Allah offerred the peace, the man will suffer in such a way which he has not suffered before. If a person is sick and he does not take the medicine he will not be healed. In the same way if a person is hungry, and is offerred food but rejects the food, his hunger will not disappear. Allah States in regards to the Holy Prophetsaw:
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ {108}
And We have sent thee not but as a mercy for all peoples. (Chapter 21 Verse 108)
The Holy Prophetsaw is a mercy for all of Mankind but the ones who rejected and mocked him, did not receive this mercy nor did they benefit from it.
