Breath of The Messiah Will Kill The Disbelievers?

Breath of The Messiah Will Kill The Disbelievers?

its quite sad that some Muslims take this prophecy of Muhammad(Saw) to be literal. Firstly, they need to understand that a lot of the prophecies in regards to the Messiah(as) are full of metaphorical language. Secondly, they are comprised of visions and we know from the Qur’an and Ahadith that visions are not taken literally. Here are some examples from the Qur’an and the Ahadith of the Holy Prophet Muhammad(saw):

Allah states:

Chapter12verse5-7

Remember the time when Joseph said to his father, ‘O my father, I saw in a dream eleven stars and the sun and the moon, I saw them making obeisance to me.’ He said, ‘O my darling son, relate not thy dream to thy brothers, lest they contrive a plot against thee; for Satan is to man an open enemy. (Chapter 12 verse 5-7)

Now will these anti Ahmadi also blame Joseph (As) for this vision? The stars and sun do not prostrate to humans rather to Allah alone. He narrated this dream to his father and he even had no objection to this vision. So were they lying? Did Joseph(as) lie to us God forbid? Will the anti Ahmadis raise this Allegation on Joseph(as) also?

In the same Surah, Allah states:

1237

And with him there entered the prison two young men. One of them said, ‘I saw myself in a dream pressing wine.’ And the other said, ‘I saw myself in a dream carrying upon my head bread of which the birds are eating. Inform us of the interpretation thereof; for we see thee to be of the righteous.’(Chapter 12 verse 37)

These two people ask for the interpretation of the dream. They were in jail how can their dreams be physical? Yusuf(As) did not reply by saying no you are lying where is the bread or wine rather he interpreted the dreams by saying you will be saved and the bird one would be hanged. Even after he would be hanged the birds would not eat from his head. Allah explains this interpretation in the Quran and shows us don’t take these things physical.

In the same Surah in Verses 44-45 Allah states:

Chapter12verse44-45

And the King said, ‘I see in a dream seven fat kine which seven lean ones eat up, and seven green ears of corn and seven others withered. O ye chiefs, explain to me the meaning of my dream if you can interpret a dream.’ They replied, ‘They are confused dreams, and we do not know the interpretation of such confused dreams.’ (Chapter 12 Verses 44-45)

The king also saw a vision where seven fat cows were being eaten by seven lean and seven green spikes of grain. Cows are not eaten by plants rather eat plants. Now do we say the king lied? Yusuf(As) heard this dream and did not say you lied rather he explained the dream. Allah did not mention the dream and say the king lied rather he explained the dream.

Allah also states:

844

When Allah showed them to thee in thy dream as few; and if He had shown them to thee as many, you would have surely faltered and would have disagreed with one another about the matter; but Allah saved you. Surely, He has full knowledge of what is in your breasts.(Chapter 8 Verse 44)

Allah showed the greatest prophet that these people were few in number. Now God forbid the ones who accused the vision of Ahmad(As) will they also accuse this? Allah has told us this dream in Qur’an that the things Allah shows in visions are not necessarily physical.

Another Hadith of Bukhari states:

Narrated Ubaidullah bin `Abdullah bin `Utba:

We were informed that Musailima Al-Kadhdhab had arrived in Medina and stayed in the house of the daughter of Al-Harith. The daughter of Al-Harith bin Kuraiz was his wife and she was the mother of `Abdullah bin ‘Amir. There came to him Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) accompanied by Thabit bin Qais bin Shammas who was called the orator of Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ). Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) had a stick in his hand then. The Prophet (ﷺ) stopped before Musailima and spoke to him. Musailima said to him, “If you wish, we would not interfere between you and the rule, on condition that the rule will be ours after you… The Prophet said, “If you asked me for this stick, I would not give it to you. I think you are the same person who was shown to me in a dream. And this is Thabit bin Al-Qais who will answer you on my behalf.” The Prophet (ﷺ) then went away. I asked Ibn `Abbas about the dream Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) had mentioned. Ibn `Abbas said, “Someone told me that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “When I was sleeping, I saw in a dream that two gold bangles were put in my hands, and that frightened me and made me dislike them. Then I was allowed to blow on them, and when I blew at them, both of them flew. Then I interpreted them as two liars who would appear.’ One of them was Al-`Ansi who was killed by Fairuz in Yemen and the other was Musailima Al-Kadhdbab.”(Sahih Bukhari Vol. 5, Book 59, Hadith #662

Now we know that according to Islam wearing Gold is haram in Islam. Now will anti Ahmadis say that Muhammad(saw) did something haram God forbid? When Muhammad(saw) said this dream not a single sahabi mocked this dream or accused it. Rather Muhammad(saw) explained the vision and he explained the dream and interpreted it.

Now it is quite obvious that the Messiah(as) of the latter days, who would be a prophet of Allah, would not come to have physical breath which would kill disbelievers. His objective is to guide the disbelievers to the truth, rather than to kill them without giving guidance. Islam does not teach to kill anyone because of his faith. I challenge the non Ahmadis to show a single instance where Muhammad(saw) said to kill anyone for his religion when it was not in the time of war and he limited their freedom of practicing their faith.

I will explain this prophecy in the words of my beautiful imam, and lover of Muhammad(Saw) Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as)

“Remember, it was necessary for large number of people to die at the time of the Messiah and it was also destined that plagues and earthquakes should strike. This is the meaning of the Hadith wherein it is written that people would perish with the breath of the Messiah, and his killing breath would work as far as his eyes would see. It is wrong to infer from this hadith that the Messiah would be a witch that would remove people’s hearts just by looking at them. What it really means is that wherever his pure breath–i.e. his teachings–would spread in the world, people would deny him, reject him, and abuse him; so much so, that their rejection shall become a cause of chastisement for them. This hadith indicates that the Promised Messiah(As) will be vehemently opposted, with the result that a great many people shall die in the land, the most severe earthquakes shall take place and peace shall disappear altogether. It would otherwise be irrational to think that pious and righteous people should be subjected to various punishments without any reason. This is the reason why, even in the past, ignorant people have considered prophets (may the Peace and blessings of Allah be upon them) to be bearers of misfortune and have blamed them for what were actually the consequences of their own misdeeds. The fact, however, is that it is not the prophet who brings punishment; rather it is the fact that people have become deserving of punishment that brings a prophet as a final warning and produces the necessity for his advent. Severe punishment never takes place without the advent of a prophet, as God says in the Holy Quran : We do not punish a people until a prophet has been sent to them (Chapter 17 verse 16) Why then is it that the epidemic of the plague is devouring the country on the one hand, and terrifying earthquakes are giving no respite on the other? O heedless ones, look around!

May be a prophet has been established by God and it is him who you have rejected. It is already the twenty fourth year of the Hijri Century. Why, without the advent of a prophet, are you being afflicted with this calamity which takes away your friends and loved ones each year and brings sorrow to your hearts? There must be a reason, why do you not look for it? And why do you not reflect upon the verse which I have Quoted above, in which God Almighty says:We do not punish a people until a prophet has been sent to them. That is we never send an extraordinary punishment upon a people until we have sent a messenger to fully convey our message” (Divine Manifestations, page 9-11)

“It has been destined from the very beginning that the Promised Messiah would first appear in an awe-striking form, and, as far as his eyes would see, people would perish with his breath. This means that that will not be the time for jihad of fighting with the sword, it will be the spiritual attention of the Messiah which will work like a sword, and awe-inspiring signs like plagues, earthquakes ad other calamities shall descend from heaven. Then God’s Messiah shall look upon mankind with compassion, and the heavens too shall show signs of compassion, and people shall be blessed with long lives and abundant provisions shall come out of the earth” (Divine Manifestations, footnote of page 8)
