Before answering this allegation, I will attach the beautiful words of Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmadrh , who explained the background information of the mubahila (prayer duel) during his Khutba on July 30 1999:
Our scholars should understand that I am the head of the worldwide Community and it is not my job to always accept the Mubahila Challenge of every Tom, Dick and Harry or to respond
with a Challenge but I don’t know why people can’t understand this. What happened was the
2 Missionaries were lured into the net of an opponent and invited him to a debate. He had already come with the intent to suddenly offer a Mubahila during the debate. It was not at all incumbent upon me to accept his Challenge as is. If so he should have been rebutted with the demand to show the people who were behind him as their representative and who would have accepted his failure as the triumph of the Ahmadiyya Community but aside of all this 2 of our simpleton Missionaries not only accepted his Challenge but offered my Challenge to him. They had no right to do this but I say that they were after all fighters of the army of Ahmadiyya so if they accepted it then I also accept it and in this way I have accepted this Mubahila Challenge.
It should be noted that the challenger of the Mubahila has in fact been proved false during this Mubahila itself. I had presented the Ahmadiyya claims before the enemy in very clear words and said that it should be announced about each of them that this is a false claim, this is a false claim. He has made no such claim and I present the words before you. The opponents of the Ahmadiyya Community say that the Ahmadiyya Community holds to the following tenets
The Community claims that its founder Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian was
God: ‘May the curse of Allah be on the liars:
[The audience repeated ‘May the curse of Allah be on the liars’].
As well as the one million who have entered today there is not even a single Ahmadi from the millions of Ahmadis who calls or accepts Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian as God.
The second claim: He was the son of God ‘May the curse of Allah be on the liars’.
Moreover these claims are falsifying each other. If he was God how could he be the son of God? This is the insanity of the Maulvis Or one of their insanity among many
Another claim is that he was also the father of God. Rather than curse this one’s heart would wish to recite ‘We belong to Allah’ at this.
Then there is this fearsome claim that he was greater and higher than all Prophets including the Holy Prophet Muhammad . No Ahmadi the world over can even think or dream of making this claim.
Then he says that the Hadith of Muahmmad has no standing before his own
revelation ‘May God forbid and protect us’, ‘May the curse of Allah be on the liars’.
Their place of worship is equal to the Kabaa in respect and dignity. That is every Ahmadi mosque is equal to the Kabaa ‘We belong to Allah and return to Him’,‘May the curse of Allah be on the liars’.
The land of Qadian is akin to the Holy city of Mecca. To go to Qadian once a
year serves as forgiveness for all one’s sins.
It is our claim that visiting any Holy place in the world never serves to forgive sins.
God-consciousness serves as forgiveness of sins. If one goes in God-consciousness then Allah Almighty will definitely forgive the sins. If one goes without being God-conscious then it is up to Him if He wills He will forgive and if He wills He will punish.
Instead of performing the Hajj at the House of Allah to attend the Jalsa in Qadianis in itself a Hajj
‘May the curse of Allah be on the liars’
In addition to these allegations the following vile allegations are also leveled at the Ahmadiyya Community:
The Ahmadis hold to a different Kalima [creed] than the Muslim
‘May the curse of Allah be on the liars’, ‘There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His
Messenger’
When Ahmadis recite the Kalima of the Muslims ‘There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger’ they do it out of deceit and when they say Muhammad they mean Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian
‘May the curse of Allah be on the liars’
The Ahmadi God is not the God of Prophet Muhammad or the God of the Quran
‘May the curse of Allah be on the liars’
The Qadianis believe in angels other than those mentioned in the Quran and the Sunna’ ‘May the curse of Allah be on the liars’
The Qadianis adhere to other prophets
Their worship is different from Islam
Their hajj is different
The Qadiani beliefs are those other than the differing from all the fundamental tenets of Islam presented by the Qur’an and the Sunah
After mentioning all these allegations I had announced that all these allegations are white lies and are totally false and open. Not a single one of them is true. So
‘May the curse of Allah be on the liars’
In the end I place the curse of God on the liars. I had also announced that if these things are false and they are indeed false that is what the Maulvis allege then you O God! Shower the bounties of both worlds upon the Community. Manifest its truth before the whole world
Today those arriving from all over the world witnesses that by God! The truth of the Community has become manifest throughout the whole to.
I had also said that if the allegations of the enemy are true then He should send his wrath upon us within a year and strike us with humiliation and blight and make us a target of
your punishment and manifest Your wrath upon us and crush us under the grindstone of your punishment so that the world may see undeniably that there is no human hand or trick or hatred or malice behind these calamities but only the hand of the honor and power of God.These are all wondrous things that you show. I am opening before you the fact that just this one year will prove this challenger of the Mubahila to be false. Because the Community should have been wiped away this year. Instead of being wiped away it is becoming more alive and more alive by the day. So all their mockeries turn upon themselves. We do not care for them at all. In future I would advise that this issue be left to God. You will see the Community succeeding day by day and each year regardless of whether anyone accepts the Mubahila or not it will continue to serve as a growing heap of curses from us upon them and it will be so if Allah wills and those who among us who will remain alive will all see it
This sermon itself is enough to show us that Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmadrh won the mubahila, as he himself made it clear. However, since anti Ahmadis falsely spread this story, it will be answered. Firstly, let us see the verse of Mubahila:
فَمَنْ حَاجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا نَدْعُ أَبْنَاءَنَا وَأَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَنِسَاءَنَا وَنِسَاءَكُمْ وَأَنْفُسَنَا وَأَنْفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَلْ لَعْنَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْكَاذِبِينَ {62}
Now whoso disputes with thee concerning him, after what has come to thee of knowledge, say to him, ‘Come, let us call our sons and your sons, and our women and your women, and our people and your people; then let us pray fervently and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie.’(Chapter 3 Verse 62)
Allah revealed this verse, but still the Christians did not die before the Holy Prophetsaw. The reason was, they did not truly accept the prayer duel. Similar is the case with Illias Sattar, who tried to trick and deceive many which is not something new when it comes to these “scholars”. He was completely humiliated by Allah.
What transpired on June 3, 1999 was a question answer session with some non Ahmadis which included Illias Sattar and his company. Two scholars named Usman Shahid and Abdul Rahman were present. The debate got out of hand and Illias Sattar could not answer anything which made him ask for a prayer duel. The scholars said that the prayer duel is only given by the Khalifa. Upon hearing this, Illias Sattar continued to ask for a mubahila to which the scholars accepted. This took place in Karachi.
Illias Sattar mentioned:
“If Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is wrong and not from Allah then I pray that Mirza Tahir Ahmad will be punished in one year and the whole of the jamaat will be punished by Allah within one year”
Can someone tell me what had happened in one year? Jamaat grew and became stronger. Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmadrh himself said:
“I am opening before you the fact that just this one year will prove this challenger of the Mubahila to be false. Because the Community should have been wiped away this year. Instead of being wiped away it is becoming more alive and more alive by the day.”
Illias Sattar then signed a newspaper called Jurat, on November the 11th 1999. He claimed that the 34th Jalsa Salana would be the last of the Jamaat, which was the main point of the mubahila. This further proved him false as the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat has had a Jalsa since then, every single year in many countries. According to him, Jamaat should have vanished in 2000.
Illias Sattar celebrates for no reason at all. We ask him what bad thing happened to Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmadrh or the jamaat? If any anti Ahmadi dares to call out a temporary illness of Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmadrh, then that is complete ignorance on their part. They may as well mock the Prophets who were also ill in their old age. They might as well also deny the ayah of the Qur’an which states:
وَمَنْ نُعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِي الْخَلْقِ ۖ أَفَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ {69}
And him to whom we grant long life – we revert him to a weak condition of creation. Will they not then understand? (Chapter 36 Verse 69)
If the sickness of Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmadrh was a punishment, then why would Allah cure him? In the year of 2000, Hadhur gave 44 khutbas. What happened the next year? He lead 52 khutbas. What happened in 2002? He lead 48 Khutbas. Allah recovered Hadhur from a temporary illness, which had nothing to do with this mubahila. Allah blessed Hadhur so much that even a day before his blessed soul departed from this world, he gave such a beautiful sermon.
Another important point to note is that Illias Sattar did not even follow the first condition of the Mubahila. Despite this, he still lost and was humiliated by Allah. He was supposed to publish this prayer duel in a newspaper of Pakistan on 10 June 1999, but failed to do so. Furthermore, Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmadrh lived much longer than one year and himself said he won the mubahila. The mubahila was Jamaat Ahmadiyya against anti Ahmadis, rather than Hadhur against Illias Sattar. This is also a key point to remember.
Even after Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmadrh passed away, Allah fulfilled his Promise and once again blessed us with Khilafat. Illias Sattar on the other hand is unknown, and no one even remembers his name. Please see the following video as well:
