Messiah Would Be Declared Kaffir?

It is a clear fact that the Promised Messiah was to be declared a disbeliever according to the Qur’an, the Ahadith and the views of many scholars. The non Ahmadis mock that Ahmadas stated this and raise a cry over it. What they forget is that the exact words are not needed of what Ahmadas said, rather the concept is needed and this is clear in the Qur’an and the ahadith whcih we will now show. The  first point to be made clear is that according to the Ahadith the latter day Messiah would be a prophet, and therefore the rules and laws of Allah in regards to a prophet would also apply to him. Allah States:

كَذَٰلِكَ مَا أَتَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنْ رَسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُوا سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ {53} أَتَوَاصَوْا بِهِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ {54}

Even so there came no Messenger to those before them, but they said, ‘A sorcerer, or a madman!’ Have they made it a legacy to one another? Nay, they are all a rebellious people. (Chapter 51, Verses 53-54)

وَلَقَدِ اسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِالَّذِينَ سَخِرُوا مِنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ{11}

And surely have the Messengers been mocked at before thee, but that which they mocked at encompassed those of them who scoffed. (Chapter 6 Verse 11)

وَلَقَدِ اسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فَأَمْلَيْتُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ {33}

And surely, Messengers have been mocked at before thee; but I granted respite to those who disbelieved. Then I seized them, and how was then My punishment!(Chapter 13 Verse 33)

وَمَا يَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ رَسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ{12}

And there never came to them any Messenger but they mocked at him.” (Chapter 15 Verse 12)

Allah Has repeatedly Told us that all Messengers are mocked, but sadly today the Muslims believe that the Prophet who they await would be accepted by the entire world. These verses alone are sufficient to show that the latter day Messiah would also be mocked and be declared a disbeliever as this occurs to all Prophets. Furthermore, Allah States in the Qur’an:

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُوَ يُدْعَىٰ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ {8} يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَاللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ {9} هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ{10}

But who could do greater wrong than one who forges the lie against Allah while he is called to Islam? Allah guides not the wrongdoing people. They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.(Chapter 61 Verses 8-10)

Allah tells us in this verse that who is worst than one who forges a lie against Allah while he is called to Islam. These verses contain a prophecy of the Promised Messiah as he was being called to Islam despite being the truest of the Muslims. This refers to someone other than the Holy Prophetsaw as well since he was not called to Islam, and rather was calling to Islam. It is the mullahs and the ulemah who decide who are Muslims and who are not which is completely astonishing and saddening. They claim that only they are Muslims and everyone else who disobeys them is a disbeliever. Allah States that He will perfect his light even if the disbelievers hate it, and as we see the mullahs are doing everything they can to destroy the jamaah of Allah but nothing is stopping our growth. Allah says this will happen at the time of the Messiah and this is further proven by the verse saying that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, and everyone is aware that this is a sign of that same latter day Messiah. This is agreed upon by even the non Ahmadi Muslim scholars. For example, it is stated by Ibn Jarir:

ibn-jarir

“It is during the Promised Messiah’s time that the true religion will supersede over all the false religions and only one religion will remain.”(Ibn Jarir Volume 28, p 53)

Allah States in the previous verse:

وَإِذْ قَالَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَمُبَشِّرًا بِرَسُولٍ يَأْتِي مِنْ بَعْدِي اسْمُهُ أَحْمَدُ ۖ فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ قَالُوا هَٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُبِينٌ {7}

And remember when Jesus, son of Mary, said, ‘O children of Israel, surely I am Allah’s Messenger unto you, fulfilling that which is before me of the Torah, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me. His name will be Ahmad.’ And when he came to them with clear proofs, they said, ‘This is clear enchantment.’(Chapter 61 Verse 7)

The Promised Messiahas is even mentioned by name and this is a double prophecy for both the Holy Prophet Muhammadsaw and Ahmadas. Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmadra states:

“The preceding verse having been applied to the Holy Prophet, the expression “who can be more unjust than one who forges a lie against Allah while he is called to Islam” would refer to those rejectors of Truth to whom he addressed his message, since he was the inviter and the invitees (20:109, & 33:47) and having rejected his Message and by intentionally misinterpreting Divine prophecies they belonged to that class of people who in the Qur’an have been called forgers of lies against God (6:138-141). But if the prophecy be taken to apply to the Promised Messiah, the expression “he is called to Islam” would signify that the Promised Messiah would be invited by the so-called defenders of Islam to recant, repent and be a Muslim like them, for according to them, by his claim to be the Promised Messiah and Mahdi, he would cease to be one” (Five Volume Commentary of the Holy Qur’an, Page 2622)

He also states:

The Promised Messiahas writes on page 63 of the Tuhfa’-e-Golarhwiyyah: “Only two dangers have been mentioned. The one is internal viz. acting like the Jews and persecuting the Promised Messiahas, and the second external, viz. conversion to Christianity. You ought to know and remember well that in the opening chapter of the Holy Quran, the dangers against which Muslims have been taught to pray for protection are only two in number, viz. (1) to deem him an infidel who was to arise as the Messiahas in Islam—to bring him into contempt, to seek to cast aspersions upon his character, to pronounce the fatwa of death against him. These are the dangers referred to in the verse “Ghairil Maghdubi ‘Alaihim”. (2) The second danger against which the Muslims have been taught to seek protection in the chapter, is the danger of Christianity and the fact that the chapter closes with the mention of this danger indicates that the danger of Christianity will be like a mighty flood and will surpass every other danger.” (Truth of the Split, Page 49-50)

It is further made clear that this is indeed a double prophecy by focussing on the next chapter. Allah States in the Qur’an in the very next chapter:

هُوَ الَّذِي بَعَثَ فِي الْأُمِّيِّينَ رَسُولًا مِنْهُمْ يَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِهِ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَإِنْ كَانُوا مِنْ قَبْلُ لَفِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ {3} وَآخَرِينَ مِنْهُمْ لَمَّا يَلْحَقُوا بِهِمْ ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ {4}

He it is Who has raised among the Unlettered people a Messenger from among themselves who recites unto them His signs, and purifies them, and teaches them the Book and wisdom, although they had been, before, in manifest misguidance. And among others from among them who have not yet joined them. He is the Mighty, the Wise. That is Allah’s grace; He bestows it on whom He pleases; and Allah is the Master of immense grace.”(Chapter 62 Verses 3-4)

The Holy Prophet Muhammadsaw, in Bukhari which is the most authentic book after the Qur’an, did commentary of these ayahs, and prophesied in regards to a prophet who would descend to revive Islam. Hesaw states:

Narrated Abu Huraira: While we were sitting with the Prophet (ﷺ) Surat Al-Jumu’a was revealed to him, and when the Verse, “And He (Allah) has sent him (Muhammad) also to other (Muslims)…..’ (62.3) was recited by the Prophet, I said, “Who are they, O Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)?” The Prophet (ﷺ) did not reply till I repeated my question thrice. At that time, Salman Al-Farisi was with us. So Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) put his hand on Salman, saying, “If Faith were at (the place of) Ath-Thuraiya (pleiades, the highest star), even then a man from these people (i.e. Salman’s folk) would attain it.” (Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, Hadith #4897)

There are much more signs in the Qur’an which prove that the Messiah would be declared a disbeliever. Allah has likened our ummah, to the ummah of Mosesas. He States:

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًا شَاهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولًا {16}

Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger, who is a witness over you, even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.(Chapter 73 Verse 16)

The ahadith further explains how our ummah would become just like the Jews. The Holy Prophetsaw stated:

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “You will follow the ways of those nations who were before you, span by span and cubit by cubit (i.e., inch by inch) so much so that even if they entered a hole of a mastigure, you would follow them.” We said, “O Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)! (Do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?” He said, “Whom else?”(Sahih al Bukhari, Hadith #7320)

This itself shows that the Muslims would become just like the Jews and the Christians. The Jews rejected the Messiah sent to them and declared him a disbelieiver, while the Christians rejected the greatest of Mankindsaw and called him a disbeliever. The same would happen to the Muslims and did happen to them, as they called the Messiah a disbeliever. Another hadith states:

Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr:that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “What befell the children of Isra’il will befall my Ummah, step by step, such that if there was one who had intercourse with his mother in the open, then there would be someone from my Ummah who would do that. Indeed the children of Isra’il split into seventy-two sects, and my Ummah will split into seventy-three sects. All of them are in the Fire Except one sect.” He said: “And which is it O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “What I am upon and my Companions.” (Jami’at Tirmidhi Hadith #2641)

The Holy Prophetsaw made it clear that our ummahs are so alike and its clear that the Jews declared their Messiah a disbeliever which is why the same had to occur in our ummah. This is further proven by a prophecy of the Prophetsawin regards to the knowledge of the scholars being taken away, which shows their actions would be horrible. Hesaw stated:

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr:I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, “Allah will not deprive you of knowledge after he has given it to you, but it will be taken away through the death of the religious learned men with their knowledge. Then there will remain ignorant people who, when consulted, will give verdicts according to their opinions whereby they will mislead others and go astray.”(Sahih al Bukhari, Hadith #7307)

There are more ahadith which state the horrible condition of the scholars which further shows they would reject the Messiah. The Holy Prophet Muhammadsaw stated that a time would come when Muslims would be totally devoid of guidance. Hesaw stated:

‘Alī ibn Abī Ṭālibra narrates that the Messenger of Allāhsaw said: “A time will come in the near future when there will be nothing left of the Islam except its name. And there will be nothing left of the Holy Qur’ān except its words. The mosques of that age will apparently be full of people, but will be empty of righteousness. Their ‘Ulamā’ will be the worst creatures under the heaven. Discourse will rise from them and will come right back to them.”(Mishkat Kitabul Ilm)

And:

“There will arise a great turbulence among my people and in their terror they will have recourse to their divines and suddenly they will find them in the guise of apes and swine.”(Kanzul Ummal, Vol. VII, p. 90)

These are signs of the end times and no one can deny that the condition of the scholars was indeed as the Prophet Muhammadsaw prophecied they would be, and therefore it would be a must for them to declare the Messiah a disbeliever and reject him because of their arrogance and this is exactly what occurred. Furthermore, it is true that even according to the scholars the Messiah had to be declared a disbeliever. Here are some statements:

Syed Ahmad, who was a famous saint of Sirhind, wrote in his Maktubat that the priests shall declare the Promised Messiah to be a heretic. Similarly the Mahdi is also to be declared as a herectic by the Muslim Ulama (Hujaj-ul-Karamah, Page 363). This is narrated by Ibn Arabi, who states in his book Futuhat-e-Makiyya:

“At the appearance of Imam Mahdi none would be his open enemy other than the divines – the religious scholars in particular” (Futuhat-e-Makiyya, Volume 3, Page 336)

This further shows that the latter day Messiah was not supposed to be accepted by the entire ulama, rather only by a minority as the scholars would lead millions astray. The problem with the anti Ahmadis is that they do not understand that Ahmadas is explaining a concept and the concept is present in the Qur’an. It is not a must that the concept has to be indicated word for word.
