The Promised Son

The Promised Son

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas had thousands of prophecies, but no prophecy is more beautiful and in depth, than the prophecy of the Promised Son. Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas went into seclusion after Allah had Told him during the month of January in 1886. This seclusion was done in a town named Hoshiarpur in India and he spend all of his time in worship and received a great prophecy during this time. Firstly came the prophecy of Allah telling Ahmadas to go to Hoshiapur. He stated:

” God, the Noble, may His Name be glorified, has disclosed to me the name of the town where I should stay for a period in seclusion; and it is Hoshiarpur” (Maktubat-e-Ahmadiyyah, Volume 5, No.3, Page 10, Letter no.20, adressed to Chaudary Rustam Alira)

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas further stated on February 20, 1886:

” God, the Merciful and Noble, the Magnificent and High, Who has power to do all that He wills (glory be to Him and exalted be His name) addressed me in a revelation and said:

I confer upon you a Sign of My mercy according to what you begged of me. So I have heard your entreaties and have honoured your prayers with My acceptance through My mercy and made your journey (i.e. the journey to Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana) a source of blessings for you. Therefore, a Sign of power, mercy, nearness is bestowed on you, a Sign of grace and beneficence is awarded to you and you are granted the key of success and victory. Peace on you, O victorious one. Thus did God speak so that those who desire life may be rescued from the grip of death and those who are buried in the graves may come out of them and so that the superiority of Islam and the dignity of God’s Word may become manifest unto the people and so that truth may arrive with all its blessings and falsehood may flee with all its ills, and so that people may understand that I am the Lord of Power, I do whatever I will, and so that they may believe that I am with you, and so that those who do not believe in God and deny and reject His religion and His Book and His Holy Messenger Muhammad, the Chosen Onesa may be confronted with a clear Sign and the way of the guilty ones may become manifest. Rejoice, therefore, that a handsome and pure boy will be bestowed on you; you will receive an unblemished youth who will be of your seed and will be of your progeny. A handsome and pure boy is coming as your guest. His name is Emmanuel and also Bashir. He has been invested with a spirit of holiness, and he is free from all impurity. He is the light of Allah. Blessed is he who comes from heaven. He will be accompanied by grace which shall arrive with him.

He will be characterised with grandeur, greatness and wealth. He will come into the world and will heal many of their disorders through his Messianic qualities and through the blessings of the spirit of holiness. He is the Word of Allah for Allah’s mercy and honour have equipped him with the Word of Majesty. He will be extremely intelligent and perceptive and will be meek of heart and will be filled with secular and spiritual knowledge. He will convert three into four (of this the meaning is not clear). It is Monday a blessed Monday. [Persian] [Son, delight of the heart, high ranking, noble.] [Arabic] [A manifestation of the First and the Last, a manifestation of the True and the High; as if Allah has descended from heaven.] [Urdu] His advent will be greatly blessed and will be a source of manifestation of Divine Majesty. Behold a light comes, anointed by God with the perfume of His pleasure. We shall pour Our Spirit into him and he will be sheltered under the shadow of God. He will grow rapidly in stature and will be the means of procuring the release of those held in bondage. His fame will spread to the ends of the earth and peoples will be blessed through him. He will then be raised to his spiritual station in heaven. [Arabic] [This is a matter decreed.]

Note: Many have misunderstood this prophecy and the Promised Messiahashas clarified the confusion of it referring to two different sons:

‘A handsome and pure boy is coming as your guest…who comes from heaven.’ These sentences…indicate a short life, because a guest is he who comes and leaves within a few days and departs very soon. The sentence that follows points to the Promised Reformer and that continues up to the end…. The prophecy of February 20…consisted of two prophecies, which were mistaken as one. Thereafter…this mistake was corrected by the subsequent revelation.” (Maktubat-e-Ahmadyyah, Volume 5, Pages 43-44, Dated December 4, 1888, addressed to Khalifatul Masih Ira)

Many accused the Promised Messiahas of not giving a time period of the Son’s birth and to this, Allah revealed to him this detail as well as time went on. Ahmadas stated:

” In the Announcement of February 20, 1886 made by this humble one…there is a prophecy of the birth of a righteous son possessing the qualities mentioned in the announcement.…Such a son, according to the divine promise, will surely be born within nine years, soon or late, but certainly within this period.”(Announcement of March 22, 1886, Majmu’ah Ishtiharat, Volume 1, Page 113)

And:

” After the announcement mentioned above, I supplicated again for further disclosure concerning this matter and it was disclosed to me today, April 8, 1886, by God Almighty that a son will be born very soon. Such period cannot exceed the interval of one pregnancy. Thus, it is obvious, that a son will probably be born soon, or certainly in the next pregnancy, but it has not been disclosed whether the one who will be born soon is the same Promised Son or whether he will be born at some other time within the term of nine years.” (Announcement of Aprill 8, 1886, Majmu’ah Ishtiharat, Volume 1, Page 117)

And:

“According to the divine promise he…will certainly be born within the term announced. Heaven and earth can move away but it is not possible that His promise may not be fulfilled.”(Haqqani-Taqrir Bar Waqi’ah Wafat-e-Bashir, December 1, 1888, Sabz Ishtihar, Page 7 Footnote, Ruhani Khazain, Volume 2, Page 453 Footnote)

This prophecy was clearly fulfilled and every single sign was fulfilled. This was not only a simple prophecy but also a heavenly sign which further proved the truthfulness of the Holy Prophetsaw who said the Messiah would marry and have children. The Promised Messiahas made it clear that the Promised Son would be born within 9 years and on January 12, 1889 Ahmadas was blessed with a son named Mahmood who is known as Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmadra. This son became an adult and was truly one of the smartest Islamic scholars to ever live, and was a true image of the Promised Messiahas. Because of his amazing qualities, he was elected as the second Khalifa before his claim of being the Promised Son. His period of caliphate itself was 52 years which were full of amazing events and knowledge given by him to the Muslims in regards to many issues. His commentary of the Qur’an called Tafsir-e-Kabir is the greatest tafsir done of the Qur’an and this has been testified to by the non Ahmadi Muslims themselves as well.

The time of the Promised Son, Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmadra was one of the greatest years for the community because of how much it spread, and how many mosques were built around the world. He also wrote the greatest commentary of the Qur’an named Tafsir-e-Kabir and had an outstanding love for the Holy Prophet Muhammadsaw.

It is truly amazing how he fulfilled each and every sign of the prophecy and that this prophecy itself would require an entire book. How is it possible that Ahmadas prophesied about having a son without the knowledge of Allah? How can he prophecise 52 signs that the son would bring and each sign in the prophecy also being fulfilled, without the knowledge of Allah? It is clearly not possible to do such and it is evident that this prophecy was indeed from Allah and was fulfilled beautifully.

When Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas passed away, Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmadra stated:

““Even if all the people leave you and I am left alone I would stand by you and would face all opposition and onslaughts against your Mission.”

Such words were said by him at the age of only 19. It was evident to many that ever since Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmadra was a child, he had many special qualities. Ever since he was a child he would be dedicated to prayers and would always be in search of religious knowledge. One of the companions of the Promised Messiahas named Hazrat Mufti Muhammad Sadiqra stated three things about him which were his goodness, his honesty in every single matter and his regularity in offering prayers. He also stated that even at the age of ten, he saw the Promised Son weeping contantly in his prayers.

The knowledge of Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmadra was at such a high level that the non Ahmadi Muslims were themselves forced to admit it. Maulvi Zafar Ali Khan who was an opponent of Ahmadiyyat, stated:

“Listen carefully, you and your followers will never be able to compete with Mirza Mahmd Ahmad. Mirza Mahmud has the Qur’ana nd he has got knowledge of it. What have you got? ” (Aik Khaufnak Saazish, page 196 by Mazhar Ali Azhar)

It is also amazing that Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmadra did not make a claim to being that Promised Son, until Allah Had Told him. In 1940, he stated in a Friday Sermon:

““I believe it is not necessary to make a claim in respect of a prophecy that relates to a person who has not been commissioned by God. How many of the Reformers whose names are entered in a list published after the approval of the Promised Messiahas, made such a claim? I have heard the Promised Messiahas say that he thought Emperor Aurangzeb was the Reformer of his age. Did he put forward any claim? Umar bin Abdul Aziz is revered as a Reformer. Did he make any claim? Thus it is not necessary for a non-commissioned one to make a claim.”

He had also stated ““I have no doubt that the prophecy relating to the Promised Reformer mentioned in the green announcement is related to me” but did not make the claim till 1944 when it was revealed to him in a dream that he was the Promised Reformer.

Here is an excerpt of the dream narrated on January 28, 1944:

“I wish to state something today which I find it difficult to set forth having regard to my temperament, but as some prophethoods and Divine decrees are involved in making this exposition I cannot refrain from making it despite my reluctance.”

He was told in his dream that he was a reflection of the Promised Messiah and his Khalifa as well and at the end was told:

“I wish to mention that when I woke up after the dream I kept thinking over it and my thoughts were formulated in Arabic. The end of my thinking was that God had clearly determined that truth had arrived and falsehood had vanished, falsehood was bound to vanish (Ch.17: V.82). Today, when I was reading the announcement of the Promised Messiah [as] of 20 February 1886, I found the same words set out in it. Thus, God Almighty has revealed the reality to me and I can affirm without the least hesitation that the prophecy of God Almighty has been fulfilled, and that He has laid a foundation through the Tehrike Jadeed in consequence of which the prophecy of Jesus that the virgins will accompany the bridegroom into the citadel will one day be fulfilled in a grand manner. The reflection of the Messiah will lead the virgins to the presence of God Almighty and the nations who will have been blessed through him will proclaim joyously: ‘Hosanna, hosanna.’ They will then believe in Muhammadsaw and will have true faith in the first Messiah. At present they proclaim him the Son of God, which amounts to reviling him. But it is decreed that the seed sown by me will one day grow into such a splendid tree that the Christian peoples will gather under it in order to seek blessings from the reflection of the Messiah and will thus enter into the Kingdom of God, and the Kingdom of God will arrive on Earth as it is in Heaven.”

In the Advisory Council that took place in 1944, he stated:

“Every member of the Movement should realise that the revelation received by the Promised Messiahas, concerning me that I would grow up rapidly did not mean that I would stand alone before the enemy hosts, but that, having regard to the importance of the work to be done, it would be my duty to advance rapidly against the enemy, and when I do so, God Almighty will enable those who believe in me also to advance rapidly. In the same way when God manifested to me that the earth was being compressed under my feet and that I was running rapidly ahead it meant that when I go forward rapidly God Almighty will enable my sincere companions to traverse the earth quickly and to arrive speedily at the ends of the earth.”

He also wrote a message on February 14, 1944 in regards to a meeting which was to be held on February 20,1944 in Hoshiarpur:

““Brethren, peace be on you and the Mercy of Allah and His blessings. You have read the announcement about the meeting to be held in Hoshiarpur. The only purpose of the meeting is that at the place where the Promised Messiah, in the face of very adverse circumstances, had announced a sign of divine Mercy, whereby his name would be carried to the ends of the earth, an announcement should be made that the prophecy has been fulfilled in grand style. This is an occasion for the display of the fear of God and of righteousness and not for worldly celebration. I, therefore, announce that only such people should attend this meeting as are given to supplications, istighfar and praise of God, and who remember God constantly. They should be determined that during their sojourn at Hoshiarpur they would not speak without purpose, nor indulge in vain talk, or laughter, or ridicule, but would maintain a serious mood and would throughout be occupied in prayers and istighfar.”

“It should be kept in mind that boys and raw youths and those who are unable to exercise full control over their tempers and those who soon begin to be restless when they have to sit in silence, should not go to the meeting. Only those should go to the meeting who are determined to observe silence throughout and to devote their time to the remembrance of God or to the discharge of such duties as are assigned to them. I admonish those who intend to participate in the meeting that if they act in accordance with my advice, their participation will be acceptable to God. Otherwise, all their effort will be vain, and they will risk incurring God’s wrath.”

This meetings details were spread and even the opponents of the Jamaat were afraid of it. Maulvi Sanaullah who was a bitter opponent of the true Islam stated in Ahle Hadees on the 10th of March 1944:

“It appeared as if a host of the Companions of the Holy Prophet was proceeding to the conquest of Mecca.”

This meeting was concluded with a statement of the Promised Son which really touched the people. He stated:

“I do not say that I am the only Promised One and that no other Promised One will appear till the Day of Judgment. It appears from the prophecies of the Promised Messiah that some other promised ones will also come and some of them will appear after centuries. Indeed, God has told me that at one time He will send me a second time to the world and I will come for the reform of the world at a time when association with God will have become widespread. This means that my soul will, at some time, descend upon someone who will possess faculties and capacities like mine and he will, following in my footsteps, bring about a reform of the world. Thus, promised ones will appear in their due times according to the promise of God Almighty.”

There was a meeting in Lahore as well on March 12, 1944, which had both Ahmadi Muslims and non Ahmadi Muslims attending. Thousands were in attendance including Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs and Christians. The Khalifa stated:

“Who can say on his own that a son would surely be bestowed upon him, who can say that such a son would live and grow up, who can say that he would become the leader of a Community, who can say that he would become known unto the ends of the earth? Most certainly no one can say these things on his own … In short, the fresh evidence of the support of God Almighty has proved once more that this Movement has been established by God and enjoys His help and support. Today the prophecy made through the Promised Messiah 59 years ago, ‘I shall bestow upon thee a son who will be a sign of My Mercy and of My power, of My Grace and My Beneficence, and through him the message of Islam and Ahmadiyyat will be carried to the ends of the earth’, has been fulfilled with great glory. Today, hundreds of countries bear witness that the name of Islam reached them during the period of my Khilafat and it was during the period of my Khilafat that they heard the name of Ahmadiyyat.”

We will now show some beautiful statements of even the non Ahmadi Muslims in regards to Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmadra which further shows how great of a person he was. For example, the Promised Son had the Qur’an translated in many different languages and wrote the Introduction to the Holy Qur’an which answered objections against Islam and showed the flaws in other scriptures. One of the signs of the Promied Son was that he would show the superiority of Islam and the great status of the Qur’an. Here are some statements in regards to his work:

  1. Charles S. Bradon, Head of the Department of History and Religious Literature, Evanston University, USA, wrote “on the whole, this is a very valuable addition in the Islamic literature in the English language. He further expressed his appreciation for the valuable addition, in English, of Islamic literature by Ahmadiyya community.”
  2. Famous orientalist, H. A. R. Gibbs, said “it was so far the best effort in translating the Quran in English.”
  3. Richard Bell wrote “it was an effort to interpret the Islamic teachings according to the needs of this age and its problems. It is a proof that Ahmadiyya Community was spiritually alive and progressive.”
  4. J. Arbury said “it would not be an exaggeration to consider this work to be an evidence of the command of Islamic teachings.”
  5. Famous Dutch Weekly Newspaper, Dewaagsohel, in its March 15, 1954 issue, writes, “In this edition the original Arabic text and its Dutch translation is given together. In its introduction, written by Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad, the universal teachings of Quran has been presented as superior to the teachings of Bible and Vedas. According to this introduction the prophecies of the Old Testament are not about Messiah, instead these are about the Holy Prophet of Islam.” (Tehrik-e-Jadid and Foreign Missions).
  6. The Promised Son, Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmadradelivered a speech about Islam in the Religions Conference, in London, in 1924 and many newspapers including The Times, Morning Post, The Daily Telegraph, Daily News and Manchester Guardian gave its summary and praised it immensely. The organizer of the conference and famous clergyman of London, Walter Wash, said that he has drawn this conclusion from this conference that Islam is a living religion and this was the purpose with which the Imam of Ahmadiyya community came to London. (Al-Mubashirat, p. 78)
  7. In 1945, The Promised Son, Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmadra delivered a lecture in Lahore on Islamic Economic System, which was later published as a book and it was translated in different languages. Its Spanish translation was published in Spain. The second most widely published newspaper in Spain, “Madrid” wrote a review in its July 21, 1948 issue which shows how he was able to establish the superiority of Islam. “Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad in his lecture, comprehensively sheds light on the teachings and the principles of Islam which enables one to comprehend that the economic system forms the basis of Islam. He has brilliantly shown the difference between the Islamic system and Communism.” (Al-Fazal, December 31, 1948)

Another sign of the Promised son was that he would be Handsome and a Pious son, and a righteous servant which was also clearly fulfilled.

Mr. M. Aslam wrote “We were delighted to meet with Sahibzada Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad. Sahibzada Sahib is an extremely courteous and modest man. In addition to being courteous, he is also a very profound thinker…. I will always remember the piety, righteousness, broadmindedness and modesty of Sahibzada Sahib.” (Ta’assurrat-e-Qadian, p.136-137)

Khan Bahadur Seth Ahmad stated: “Respected Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad Sahib has been specially kind and benevolent towards me. His practical life, broadmindedness and unwavering faith in Allah has always impressed me.” (Al-Hakam, Jubilee No., 1931)

Many are aware of the journey of Hazur when he stayed in Arab countries, and even in thesse countries he was given a lot of coverage. Here are some of the excerpts :

  1. 1. Akhbaar Al-Qabas, Damascus, wrote in its August 8, 1924 issue, “Indian delegation comprising of great religious scholars and learned people, led by the Imam of Ahmadiyya community, Mirza Bashiruddin Ahmad, arrived in the Capital (Damascus) and stayed in Central Hotel. During our audience with him, we observed his depth of religious knowledge, superior stature and his great devotion and dedication to Islamic interests and related matters.”
  2. Journal “Alif Wal Ya”, in its August 9, 1924, issue, writes, “We met with him as representatives of our newspaper and we found that he was encircled by many of his companions. We could clearly see the signs of piety and righteousness and their love and devotion for their leader and Imam on their faces. We also saw two of the renowned scholars of Damascus, Maulvi Bahajatul Batar and Ahmad Al-noor Balaqi and quite a few of the educated young men of Damascus in his company. We observed that he spoke fluent Arabic and would frequently quote Quranic verses and sayings of the Holy Prophetsaw to support his arguments and if he could not remember any Hadeeth or Quranic verse then he would use logic. And this Mahdi Sahib (Hazrat Imam Jamaat) is of average height and wears his national Indian dress and wears a white turban. He is extremely intelligent, speaks fluently and with great command and use powerful arguments in his support. He neither gets tired nor gets bored from discussions and arguments.”
  3. The same newspaper writes in its August 10, 1924 issue, “He was talking in Arabic language which very much resembled the literary Arabic. He was middle aged (between 30 and 40 years of age). His immense intelligence is apparent from his facial features. And his audience gets very much impressed with his gracefulness and magnificence.”
  4. Another famous newspaper of Damascus, “Fatal Arab”, in its August issue, writes, “He is in 40th year of his life. His facial features reflect his intense intelligence. He sports a full black beard. He has wheat complexion. Majesty and magnanimity is evident from his face. His eyes reflect extraordinary knowledge and intelligence. When you face him you realize that you are standing in front of a person who understands you very well before you could understand him. He is always smiling which sometimes is hidden and sometimes becomes apparent. You will marvel at the meanings and awe hidden behind this smile.”

Another beautiful attribute of the Promised Son was that he wouldbe a man of excellence and majesty. Mr. Mian Sultan Ahmad Wajoodi who was a member of the Provincial Congress Committee stated ”  “If Kamal Ataturk used to rule over 2,94,416 square miles and 15.2 million people, if Joseph Stalin was the undisputed ruler of 171 million people, if Mussolini was the king of 42 million Italian and 8.6 million Ethiopian people, if Adolph Hitler rules over 65 million Germans, then Mirza Bashir-ud Din Mahmood Ahmad also rules over people spread all over the world belonging to all nations of the world, whose obedience is considered the most important obligation of their lives by these people.” (Al-Hakam, Jubilee Number, December 1939)

The next sign of the Promised Son is tht he would be intelligent and a man of understanding. No one can raise an allegation against this sign as it is a clear fact that. The non Ahmadi Muslim testimonies have also been given in regards to this. Chaudhry Fatal Haq stated:

“The amount of money being spent by Qadiani Jamaat and the incredible brain which is working behind this movement, is enough to destroy even the strongest kingdoms in seconds.” (Newspaper “Mujahid”, 10 August, 1935)

Furthermore, a Professor named Professor Stenko of Yugoslavian origin stated in his thesis “The Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam in regards to the Khalifia that Hazur is a leader of great resolve and extremely intelligent and was just like his father (Eastern World, Decembe 1961)

Another beautiful sign of the Promised Son is that he would be of high resolve, and filled with secular and religious knowledge. This as well is an undeniable fact and accepted by even his opponents:

  1. Khwaja Hasan Nizami stated “Most of the time he is sick. But these illnesses do not in any way interfere with his proficiency. Even in worst times of opposition, he kept his cool and continued with his mission and established his Mogul audacity and also established that Mogul race has got special talent of administration. He has got political astuteness and is also very strong in religious knowledge and sagacity. He is also well versed with military profession, that is, he is expert in both intellectual as well as lettered warfare.” (Adil, Delhi, 24 April 1933 as reported in Khalid, November 1955).
  2. During his stay in Damascus, on his way to Europe and England, Newspaper, “Al-Imran“, in its August 10, 1924, issue wrote, under following caption, Mahdi in Damascus, “Respected Ahmad Qadiani Sahib, the Khalifa of Mahdi in India, arrived in Damascus, along with his companions who are great scholars in his Jamaat. Shortly after the news of his arrival was published, many scholars and learned people went to see and discuss with him his claim. They found him to be a scholar with extensive research and depth of knowledge of all religions and their history and philosophy and one who is given the knowledge and understanding of the philosophy of divine law.”
  3. “During a meeting, Hazur delivered a speech about the Beginning of Differences in Islam and in this meeting, Professor Abdul Qadirintroduced Huzoor in these words, “Gentlemen, normally when someone comes to deliver a lecture, it is routine for the president of the meeting to introduce him to the audience. But today’s lecturer is a person of such dignity, fame and status that you will hardly find any one who is not familiar with him. He is the son of that remarkable and holy person who had created a major upheaval in the entire religious world and particularly in Christian world.” (Ta’assurat-e-Qadian, p. 16)

The same professor, stated, “Gentlemen I have also studied history somewhat and when I came here this evening I thought I knew most of Islamic history and I can easily critique it. But now after listening to Mirza Sahib’s speech I realized that I am only a beginner. The difference in my depth of knowledge and that of Mirza Sahib’s depth of knowledge is the same as between the light of this table lamp (the lamp sitting on the table) and that big electric lamp (which was hanging from the ceiling).

And:

“Gentlemen, the brilliance and command with which Mirza Sahib has commented on this very difficult subject in Islamic history is unique to him. There are very few people who could talk on this very complicated chapter in Islamic history. As far as I know there is none here in Lahore. I wish we had such knowledgeable people in our society. I think that if a person of such extraordinary intellect and status would become a member of our society, it would bring great honor to our society.” (Ta’assurrat-e-Qadian, p. 162-163)

    1. Mian Sultan Ahmad Wajoodi, member Provincial Congress Committee wrote “Mirza Mahmood Ahmad has immense power to work. He is a man of extraordinary personality. He delivers speeches for hours without interruption. His speeches are fluent and full of knowledge. He is the author of voluminous books. After meeting with him one gets deeply impressed with his lofty conduct. He has got great talent of administration. At the age 50 he has got vigor of a young man. He is a great patron of Urdu language.” (Al-Hakam, Jubilee Number, December, 1939, p. 36)
    2. On February 21, 1945, The Promised Son, Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmadra delivered a historical lecture on the topic of “Islamic Economic System”, and this was translated in many different languages. The “Information Commercial Industrial” wrote in its October, 1946, issue, “Notwithstanding the sentimental aspect, a brilliant comparison of Islamic economic system with communism is presented in this book. It is established with overwhelming proofs that communism is not only against the political principles and movements but also threatens the religious values. This book is a source of excellent information. Hazrat Imam Jamaat Ahmadiyya is deserves to be congratulated on this lecture.” (Al-Mubbasshirat).

  1. Mr. Waqar Ambalvi, famous journalist of daily newspaper “Safina”, writes, “Last Sunday the leader of Ahmadiyya community invited the newspaper representatives from Lahore to visit the location of their new city and took us on its tour. The details of this tour has already been published in newspapers. As immigrants, Rabwah is an example for us. Six million immigrants have moved in Pakistan but they are helpless, devastated and scattered. These immigrants were Muslims, believed in their creator and followers of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (saw) and stood for equality and brotherhood among Muslims but even a calamity of this magnitude could not unite them. On the other hand we have always been criticizing Ahmadies because of their beliefs but their organization, brotherhood and mutual support in the time of need had resulted in the beginning of building of a new Qadian before our own eyes. We also came as immigrants among whom were such people that every one of them could build such cities but their wealth was not spent on any poor person except for themselves. Rabwah is also an important example for us from another aspect. We can learn our lesson from it and build similar cities for the rest of the immigrants. Rabwah is an example for our public and Government and shows us that those who only indulge in making grandiose claims do not achieve anything and practical people achieve their goals without making any claims.” (Safina, Lahore, November 13, 1948)
  2. In his remarks during a lecture at Maniard Hall, Honorable Justicestated, “I am greatly thankful to Ahmadiyya Intercollegiate Association that it gave me the opportunity to listen to such literary lecture. Respected Mirza Sahib has covered an extensive topic in such a short time and shed light on many aspects. We should consider the constructive suggestions presented by him and try to implement them seriously.” (Al-Fazal, December 14, 1948)
  3. After the creation of Pakistan, Huzoor delivered many speeches on the topic of the stability and the strengthening of Pakistan. On one such occasion The Promied Son addressed a meeting on the topic of “Pakistan and its Future”, while Mr. Malik Feroz Khan Noon was the chairman, who stated:”Mirza Sahib has limitless treasure of knowledge in his mind. He has told us a lot of things in this brief time and has analysed the topic in real depth.” (Al-Fazal, December 9, 1947)

Another sign of the Promised Son was that nations would be blessed by him. Even this sign was fulfilled and even the Arab delegations thanked the Khalifa by sending him a telegram which sated “We have been greatly relieved. We hope that this will immsensely support ou demands” (Al-Fazal, November 8, 1947)

A further trait was that he would be meek of heart. Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmadra also had this quality and he had a lot of love for the poor, and tried to provide for their needs. He was always busy serving humanity and provided not only for Muslims but even the non Muslims. All of the signs were fulfilled in him and no one has the right to deny this because of this prophecy being so clear and precise. One can read more on the life of Hazur as well to learn more about him, as this would itself require its own book and cannot be discussed here.
