If the Qur’an Has not Referred to Me as Ibn Maryam?

The anti Ahmadi Muslims raise an allegation from the book A Gift for An Nadwah which states:

” If I cannot perform miracles, I am a liar. If the death of the Son of Mary cannot be substantiated by the Holy Quran, I am a liar. If the Hadith of the Mi‘raj does not show the Son of Mary residing among the souls of the dead, I am a liar. If the Holy Quran has not made it abundantly clear in Sura An-Nur that the successors of this umma will come from within the umma itself, I am a liar. If the Holy Quran has not referred to me as the Son of Mary, I am a liar.” (A Gift for An Nadwah, Page 19)

Firstly it is sad that the non Ahmadi Muslims only take one sentence and ignore the rest of the beautiful statements made. Secondly Ahmadas in this is referring to a passage which he has explained in depth many times and it is from Surah Tahrim where Allah States:

وَمَرْيَمَ ابْنَتَ عِمْرَانَ الَّتِي أَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا فِيهِ مِنْ رُوحِنَا وَصَدَّقَتْ بِكَلِمَاتِ رَبِّهَا وَكُتُبِهِ وَكَانَتْ مِنَ الْقَانِتِينَ {13}

And the example of Mary, the daughter of ‘Imran, who guarded her private parts — so We breathed into him of Our Spirit — and she fulfilled in her person the words of her Lord and His Books and was one of the obedient.(Chapter 66 Verse 13)

This verse has a second meaning and hints to the fact that some in this ummah would also raise to the status of the Son of Mary. Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmadra states:

“In this and the preceeding two verses, examples of the wives of the Prophets Noah and Lot, of the wife of Pharaoh, and the example of Mary, the mother of Jesus, are set forth. The disbelievers are compared to the wives of Noah and Lot in order to show that the companionship of a righteous man,even of a Prophet of God, does not benefit an evilly inclined person who is bent upon rejecting Truth. Prophet Noah’s wife was of a more wicked disposition than the wife of Lot since the latter only preferred the company of her relatives to that of Lot, while Noah’s son, probably under the corrupting influence of his mother, had rejected his fathers message. The wife of Pharaoh stands for those believers who, though passionately desiring and praying to get rid of sin, yet cannot fully dissociate themselves from evil influences, represented by Pharaoh, and having arrived at the state of the self accusing soul sometimes fail and falter. Mary, the mother of Jesus, represents thoe righteous servants of God, who having closed all avenues of sin and having made peace with God, are blessed with Divine inspiration; the pronoun (masculine gender)  فِيهِ   standing for such fortunate believers”(Five Volume Commentary of the Holy Qur’an, Page 2653)
