Another allegation of the non Ahmadi Muslims is the confusion of what khatamul khulafa means. They misunderstand that Ahmad(as) is giving a beautiful interpretation of the Holy Qur’an and the concept of khatamul khulafa is clearly in the Qur’an. Allah states:
Allah has promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them; and that He will surely establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them; and that He will surely give them in exchange security and peaceafter their fear: They will worship Me, and they will not associate anything with Me. Then whoso is ungrateful after that, they will be the rebellious.(Chapter 24 Verse 56)
Allah has promised the ones who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth as He made successors from among those who were before them. Firstly I ask which Muslim sect has Khilafat today on the precept of prophethood? A spiritual caliphate? No one except Ahmadiyyat. This itself shows that the true believers who do good works are the Ahmadi Muslims. This ayah has shown us that as there was khilafat in the past there would also be khilafat and as Isa(as) was the seal of the caliphs under Moses(as), so was Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) the khatamul Khalifa under the Holy Prophet Muhammad(saw).
A hadith of Musnad Ahmad states:
“Prophethood shall remain among you as long as Allah shall will. He will bring about its end and follow it with Khilafat on the precepts of prophethood for as long as He shall will and then bring about its end. A tyrannical monarchy will then follow and will remain as long as Allah shall will and then come to an end. There will follow thereafter monarchial despotism to last as long as Allah shall will and come to an end upon His decree. There will then emerge Khilafat on precept of Prophethood.” The Holy Prophet said no more (Musnad Ahmad)
This hadith also informs us about the latter day caliphate.
We further see an ayah of Qur’an where Allah states:
Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger, who is a witness over you, even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.(Chapter 73 Verse 16)
Here Allah has likened our ummah to the Ummah of Moses(as). The khatamul Khulafa of the ummah of Moses(as) was Isa(as) and the one of our ummah was Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as)
As for the challenge of Maseeh Maud (as) in ahadith there are hundreds. Here is a really famous one. I am pretty aware the person raising the allegation knows what Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) means when he says Maseeh Maud (as):
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، مَوْلَى أَبِي قَتَادَةَ الأَنْصَارِيِّ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم “ كَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ إِذَا نَزَلَ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ فِيكُمْ وَإِمَامُكُمْ مِنْكُمْ ”. تَابَعَهُ عُقَيْلٌ وَالأَوْزَاعِيُّ.
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said “How will you be when the son of Mary (descends amongst you and is your imam among you.”(Bukhari, Book 55, Hadith #658)
Both points of the person making the allegation have been clearly answered from two authentic ahadith and a Quranic ayah. The question is, will they now accept the Qur’an or continue to try to lie to people?
