Treatment Using a Chicken Tied Up?

The allegation of the non Ahmadi Muslims against Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas is in regards to one of his treatments he had used against his cousin, Nizam Ud Din, who was a fierce opponent of Ahmadiyyat.

Prophets of Allah are always mocked in similar ways, and despite all of the opposition they face, they are always successful. Allah Makes this clear in the Holy Qur’an. He States:

مَا يُقَالُ لَكَ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ قِيلَ لِلرُّسُلِ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغْفِرَةٍ وَذُو عِقَابٍ أَلِيمٍ{44}

Nothing is said to thee but what was said to the Messengers before thee. Thy Lord is indeed the Master of forgiveness; and also the Master of painful chastisement. (Chapter 41 Verse 44)

The following answer is in regards to the allegation against Hadhrat Ahmadas and one of the treatments he used to cure one of his opponents. Once we read the context, the truth will certainly become clear to all true believers, In Sha Allah.

Firstly, I would like to make it clear that such an allegation is still raised by Christians today on a misinterpretation of a hadith, which non Ahmadis sadly accept . The hadith is in regards to camel urine, and the non Ahmadis think that this was a prescribed cure by the Holy Prophetsaw.  I will not go into detail on this subject for this allegation, but will briefly explain the reality. The Arabs were already using urine of camels for medicinal use, and the Holy Prophetsaw did not forbid it. We only see him speaking of this, in an incident with the tribe of Ukl, who were sick and cured by this treatment. There are many articles mocking the Holy Prophetsaw over these ahadith, which the non Ahmadi Muslims failed to understand. This simply shows us that such an allegation is not new, and has been raised before.

Hadhrat Ahmadas stated:

“Hence, as there are people who resort to even drinking the urine of certain animals and making recourse to other abhorrent treatments as a cure for their ills, what harm is there for them to adopt this wholesome remedy to save their lives.”(Defence Against Plague, Page 2)

Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmadrh  stated:

” During the second millennium before the Christian era, the Arabs domesticated the camel, an animal perfectly suited to the desert. It provided milk for sustenance and urine for medicinal use. ” (Murder in the Name of Allah, Chapter Three)

We will now move on to the allegation which is raised by the anti Ahmadi Muslims.

The allegation comes from Seeratul Mahdi. They try to use this to mock the Promised Messiahas but in reality end up proving his truthfulness once again. The narration is as follows:

“My mother Ummal Mumineen, narrated to me that once Mirza Nizam Ud Din Sahib (The cousin of Ahmadas who was his opponent) had a very high fever which affected his brain as well. At that time there was no doctor around. The relatives of Mirza Nizam Ud Din informed Mirza Sahib. He immediately went there and did gave him proper treatment. The treatment was that he slaughtered a chicken and tied it on his head (Mirza Nizam Ud Din) after which his condition improved. At that time there was mutual opposition with the family of Nizamudin” (Seeratul Mahdi Page 35/316 Narration #51)

Let us now see how this beautiful narration proves the truthfulness of Ahmadas.  Before I answer this allegation, let me make it clear that this was not a treatment that Ahmadas used often. We see that he had many headaches and never do we find him following such a method. Perhaps it was widely used in India for headaches, and was the only possible treatment at that time. However, just because Ahmadas used such a treatment, does not mean this was his own treatment as he never used it on himself. Firstly, Nizam Ud Din was a opponent of Ahmadas and he was the one with the fever. When he was in need of help, who helped him? No one but Ahmadas. If Ahmadas was not true in his claim, and was not a Prophet of Allah, why would he assist those who disliked him to such a extent? In reality, a false Prophet would have never sent a cure and would rather make the persons condition even worst. This shows the truthfulness of Ahmadas and the love he had, even for his opponents.

Secondly, the cure of Ahmadas worked. This itself ends every allegation on the treatment as it turned out successful. If it failed, then the anti Ahmadis would maybe have the right to raise a allegation.

Thirdly, no doctor was around, so it is obvious that a different treatment would be needed which could be done at home. The family of Nizam Ud Din being against Hadhrat Ahmadas, and still asking him for help, shows how truthful he really was.

Now fourthly, this allegation is put to rest, as this treatment is a famous treatment from many famous medicine books! This was not even a treatment invented by the Promised Messiahas. Sadly they have no knowledge on medicine, and this causes them to speak out of ignorance.

Here are clear references from the most famous medicine books quoting this exact treatment:

Here is the cover of the famous book on Medicine, and here is the information mentioned:

Here is another famous medicine book named Khawasu Adaviyya:

Here it states that for meningitis putting the chicken on the head is beneficial. In this book, called Mujarabat Nurudin Volume 3, it states the exact same about a chicken to be tied to your head for meningitis or a headache.

Furthermore, we have a reference from Sharai Asbab, which also mentions the same thing about tying a chicken or bird to one’s head for relief from sickness:

The Hakeem of the Ummat according to Deobandis stated the same:

The following Arabic reference is from Hayatul Hewan and states:

و في طرف جناحيه عظمتان اذا علقت اليمنى علي من به الحمى الدائمة أبرأته

On the side wings of الدیک there are two bones , if we hang the right hand part to ill person he will get better.

All of these references make it crystal clear, that just as all of the other allegations, this one holds no weight either. I pray that Allah Guides those who dislike the Imam Mahdi, to the true teachings of Islam, Ameen
