Allegations on Photography

The anti Ahmadis say that the Promised Messiahas had his photo taken, despite writing:

Meaning, all of the painters will be in the hellfire.

Firstly, Allah States about Himself:

” He is Allah, the Creator, the Maker, the Fashioner. ” (Chapter 59 Verse 25)

It seems as if Allah is also among those who would be punished in the hellfire. The anti Ahmadis have no shame!

Secondly, the Holy Qur’an states about Prophet Solomanas:

They made for him what he desired; palaces and statues, and basins like reservoirs, and large cooking vessels fixed in their places: ‘Work ye, O House of David gratefully;’ but few of My servants are grateful. (Chapter 34 Verse 14)

Hadhrat Imam Razirh states in Tafsir-e-Kabir under Surah al Baqarah Ayah 248-249:

Meaning, Allah the Sent down a box to Hadhrat Adamas which had all of the photos of the Prophets to come from the progeny of Hadhrat Adamas. Thus, that box became and was inherited for the progeny of Hadhrat Adamas to the extent that it reached Hadhrat Yaqubas. )Tafsir-e-Kabir, Surah al Baqarah Verses 249-250)

In Tafsir Baidawi regarding Tabut-e-Saikna, it is stated:

Meaning, all of the photos of the Prophets from Hadhrat Adamas up to the Holy Prophetsaw were in this box and some have said that it means a heart )Tafsir-e-Baidawi, Surah al Baqarah Verses 249-250)

Furthermore, in Tafsir Qadiri, under verse 250 it is clearly stated:

“The tranquil box was a box which contained the photos of every Prophet”

There is a great difference between taswir and photos. Tasir is prohibited, but photography is allowed. Taswir refers to the outward appearance, meaning idols. A photo is not a taswir, rather a reflection. Photography is called Ukkasi, which is the art of reflection. Thus Hadhrat Abu Talhara has stated:

Meaning, the Holy Prophetsaw said: “Angels do not enter such a house which contain a dog or an image.” He was referring to those statues whcih were idols regarding which it was believed that they contained souls” (Sahih al Bukhari, Hadith #4002)

The reason Hadhrat Ahmadas agreed that his photograph should be taken was so that people whom he would never meet could see what he looked like. Islamic fundamentalists had declared that photography was idolatrous for it involved the making of images. Ahmadas dismissed this objection. It was only idolatrous if the intention was that the image should be worshipped. The photographer had a fixed Victorian notion of what a picture should be like. He kept asking Hadhrat Ahmadas to open his eyes more widely. To look intently at the camera, but Hadhrat Ahmadas remembering the Qur’anic injunction against the “conscious stare” kept his eyelids half-closed. Finally the photographer gave up.

We see that by The Grace of Allah, millions have recognized the truth of Hadhrat Ahmadas, by simply seeing his blessed face.
